Free Range Elk Meat Available For Delivery

This meat is so naturally tender, there is no need to marinate it. It also requires a shorter cooking time because of the lower fat content of these essentially wild animals. We always recommend cooking our elk meat to rare or medium rare for best taste and texture.

Even if you usually cook beef to a higher temperature, chances are you will enjoy this meat cooked less due to these differences. With these things in mind, elk can be substituted for beef in any recipe. Once you get a taste for this delectable meat, you’ll never turn back. Place your order now with the best meat delivery service.

Beck & Bulow: Your Quality Meat Delivery Service

Our elk is completely free range, roaming freely on 20,000 to 100,000 acre ranches. We source from two locations, one being the Rocky Mountains of the United States. The other source that fit our strict quality standards was an elk ranch in the pristine mountain valleys of New Zealand.

They roam freely, grazing and foraging as they engage in all of their natural instinctive behaviors. As with all of our meat, these animals are never administered hormones, antibiotics or steroids of any kind. When you order meat online from quality butchers, you’ll be able to taste the difference.

  1. In a large cast iron skillet, heat the avocado oil or bison tallow over medium high heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic and celery. Cook until soft and fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add the ground elk meat to the pan and cook until lightly browned.
  2. Mix the can of tomato paste with the ¾ cup water and mix thoroughly. Add the tomato sauce to the meat and combine.
  3. Add the rosemary, cumin salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and simmer for about five minutes. If desired, add more seasoning after taste testing.
  4. Add the dry rice. Continue to simmer until there is little to no liquid left in the pan. This step should take about 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. While the rice and elk meat mixture is cooking, prepare the bell peppers. Slice off the end with the stem on each pepper, but make sure to set the tops aside. Clean out the insides by removing the seeds and any inner portions. If necessary, you can rinse them out with water.
  6. Fill each pepper with the meat and rice mixture. Keep in mind that the filling will expand as the rice continues to cook in the oven, so leave a little extra space. Put the tops back on the peppers.
  7. Put the prepared peppers into a baking dish and add about ½ inch of water, which will allow the rice to stay moist and cook. Bake for about an hour. Every fifteen minutes or so, take the peppers out and spoon the liquid over them to ensure that there’s enough moisture for proper cooking of the rice to occur. Add a bit more water if necessary midway through.
