Our honey is sourced from Taos, New Mexico. We carry raw wildflower honey as well as raw creamed honey. Insider tip: the creamed variety (it’s whipped) has the consistency of marshmallow fluff and is delightfully spreadable. Some of our favorite ways to consume this heavenly substance are as an ingredient in sauces for meat, mixed into yogurt, as a baking ingredient, on top of some good crusty bread… the options are endless. If you want to experience something that tastes truly divine, try mixing some honey into the raw milk we carry at the shop.
Raw, unprocessed honey has tons of remarkable health benefits that make it one of the most potent “superfoods” on the planet. For one, raw honey is full of antioxidants. It’s also well known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties, which leads some people to use honey topically to treat skin conditions. Raw honey can even help to improve the quality of your sleep. It helps to produce melatonin, the hormone responsible for healthy sleep patterns. Studies have shown that raw honey can have digestive benefits and may even boost the immune system.
Raw honey is an excellent prebiotic which empowers a healthy digestive system. Furthermore, honey makes a great prebiotic option for people who aren’t able to digest dairy products. Prebiotics and probiotics help to keep the gut healthy by protecting against harmful bacteria. A healthy gut can impact emotional health as well as mental clarity, energy levels and more. Digestive health can affect sleep, brain and heart health and a healthy gut may help to prevent other diseases like heart disease and cancer. Raw honey is a delicious and simple way to assist your gut with staying strong and protected.
Honey is known for being an effective cough and sore throat remedy – simply take a spoonful on its own or add some to warm tea. The high antioxidant content of honey has been linked to lowering blood pressure (when consumed in moderation). Raw honey may also lower bad cholesterol levels while increasing good cholesterol. It can also be helpful as a topical treatment for burns or wounds. When using honey for any purpose, it’s important to make sure that your honey is raw and high quality. Many store bought honeys are processed or have other ingredients added in. Be discerning when purchasing honey – as always, we’re all about quality and our honey is nothing but the best.

That’s what inspired our mission to provide quality meats that are good for the earth, good for the animals and great for you. We started out with American buffalo, which remains the heart of our company. Since then, we’ve expanded our offerings to include many other varieties of responsibly sourced meat and wild caught Alaskan seafood. But our interest in nutrient rich, incredible tasting foods doesn’t stop with meat and fish. We’re all big fans of local raw honey and were excited to begin offering this nectar of the gods here at the shop.
