Physical Description: Approximately 6 oz of Wild, Line Caught, Sashimi Grade, Yellowfin Tuna Steaks. The yellowfin tuna has bright red meat when raw that turns brown to grayish-tan when cooked.
Cooking: Cooked yellowfin tuna should be firm, flaky and tender. You can bake, broil, grill and fry or serve it raw. The meat is firm and moist, with large flakes. Yellowfin tuna has a mild, meaty flavor. It’s more flavorful than albacore and leaner than bluefin.
Nutrition Information: Yellowfin Tuna is an excellent source of healthy, extra lean protein. It is also low in saturated fat and low in sodium. It is rich in niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, phosphorus and selenium. Hawaii Yellowfin Tuna is a good source of magnesium. Yellowfin Tuna also provides about 350 mg of omega-3’s (DHA and EPA) per 4 ounce serving of fresh fish.
Fishing Practices:Yellowfin Tuna weights do range anywhere from 5-200+ pounds. People sometimes prefer yellowfin due to their higher fat content and greater yields compared to other tuna.
