Physical Description: Each order comes with 1, 13-16 lb turkey. A tender and juicy turkey hen, just in time for the holidays!
Cooking: Our turkeys are gluten free, and have not been pre brined, soaked in solutions, given injections or any marinades. Many people have favorite recipes on how to prepare turkey for their families during the holidays. If you need ideas on where to start feel free to follow the recipe below:
1. Heat the oven to 325°F. Remove neck and giblets. These may be used to prepare turkey and stuffing. 2. The plastic leg clamp may be left on during cooking. 3. Place turkey on rack in shallow pan (see below for brine tips), breast side up, and loosely covered with foil. Remove foil after one hour of cooking. 4. Roast until timer pops up and turkey is fully cooked (about 4.5 hours), 180°F internal temperature as measured by a meat thermometer. Insert thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh. Always confirm temperature with a thermometer. Juices should run clear. 5. Let turkey stand at least 20 minutes before serving. 6. For optimal safety, cook turkey and stuffing separately. If desired, add fully cooked stuffing to cooked turkey just prior to serving.Decide if you want to Brine, Rub, or Baste Turkey.
Farming Practices: Our turkeys are raised and locally distributed by the same farmers as our chicken. Our farmers work to promote natural behaviors in controlled environments. The goal is to raise healthy, wholesome birds. Our birds are cage free and never administered hormones or steroids.
