Physical Description: Approximately 1 lb of Wild Alaskan Halibut Cheeks. The cheeks are known for being the sweetest part of the fish. Many people consider halibut cheeks to be one of the most underrated delicacies to come out of the Alaskan fishing industry. There are about 5-10 pieces per 1lb package. Our halibut was pressure sealed and flash frozen shortly after it was caught. Halibut is the largest of all flatfish and can get up to 500 pounds or more, but our fillets come from the smaller fish which are more tender and have a better flavor.Cooking: Halibut have a mild, slightly sweet flavor and a unique firm, texture. Halibut has a wide array of uses from sandwiches to fish hash for breakfast or an elegant dinner entrée. It will yield high quality results across the board.
